The Squadron has won the 3 Squadron Cup, qualifying for the finals of the Davy Memorial drill competition

Well done to the team for this outstanding result, especially Warrant Officer Latty.

The 3 Squadron cup is the trophy awarded to the Squadron judged best in the South Island for ceremonial drill. This has been awarded to No.38 Squadron on 5 previous occasions.

Well done to the Squadron and the team!

National Aviation—Powered Flight at  Woodbourne. Sgt R Wood

National Aviation—Gliding at Matamata. Cdt A Philpott

Air Force Experience at Bases Woodbourne, Ohakea and Auckland. Sgt R Wood

 

These, and more, courses are run during each term holidays. All have age, service and experience criteria. Cadets can check these in their hand-book or on the unit’s notice-board.

Closing date for applications is notified to cadets a week or two before they are due.

 

Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award

 

FLGOFF Katy Gutsell has informa-tion for joining this globally recognized scheme. Participants must be between the ages of 14 and 25.

Skills learnt and courses attended as members of ATC can be accredited to the requirements in D of E.

No.38 Wigram Squadron would like to welcome new members to the committee and thank those who attended the last AGM.

 

I would also like to thank those who are leaving us after so many years assisting to form and shape the Squadron to what it is now.

 

We wish Bob McDermit and Helen Leslie all the best for their future endeavours.
