											<description><![CDATA[Dear Parents and Caregivers,
<p>
Welcome to 38 (Wigram) Squadron ATC for 2014. The Support 
Committee would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our 
Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 19th March, from 6.45pm. This 
offers you the opportunity to watch the cadets parade, see some of 
the training programme, hear of unit and cadet achievements, 
events and opportunities, and meet the officers and committee 
members.
<p>
As previously noted, the committee office-bearers (chairperson, 
treasurer and secretary) are standing down. We have received a 
nomination for chairperson, but the offices of secretary and 
treasurer remain unfilled. Please contact me if you wish to be 
nominated.
<p>
A strong support committee means a healthy unit, with the funds 
and person-power to run many exciting and rewarding activities for 
the cadets. If you are able to help in any way or wish to contact 
the Support Committee with any queries, please phone me (388 2922)

											<description><![CDATA[Dear parents and cadets,
<p>    
Welcome back! This is just a short note to inform you that the 
annual subscriptions for this year have been kept the same as last 
year - $180 for one cadet, $150 each for two or more cadets in the 
same family. Thanks to some very successful fundraising we have 
now been able to keep fees at this level for three years. We would 
appreciate it if subs could be paid by the end of term one to help 
us with our budgeting.

											<description><![CDATA[On Wednesday 20th November, the Warrant Officer will be running 
this years RFL/Sports Night here at Wigram. The night will 
involve a number of different sports activities. Cadets are to 
arrive in uniform and bring along PT gear. This includes shirt, 
shorts and trainers (and socks). Cadets are also to bring a drink 
bottle.
<p>
Please note that if there is wet weather then the night will 
still go ahead with indoor alternatives.

											<description><![CDATA[Dear Parents/Guardians
<p>
In January 2014 New Zealand Cadet Forces is holding a national 
camp at Waiouru to celebrate 150 years of cadets.
<p>
It is open to cadets who have completed their second year of 
training this year.
<p>
There is a list of activities that are planned to be run on the 
Facebook web site – search for Cadet150.
<p>
At this stage the costs are still to be confirmed, as are the 
dates to travel to and from the activity.  The camp dates are 
24th till 30th January 2014.
<p>
Please let the office know if you are interested in attending 
this camp and will be able to meet the cost and dates.

No 38(Wigram) Squadron ATC is commencing it’s shooting programme 
for 2013 this Thursday 18 September 2013 at Paparoa Range.  We 
apologise for the short notice for this first shoot, but will be 
running this every second Thursday until 28 November.

											<description><![CDATA[No. 38 (Wigram) Squadron will be conducting a unit tramp in the 
Hakatere Forest Reserve near Ashburton on the weekend of 12 – 13 
October.  This activity is open to all members of the unit.
<p>
Cadets are to arrive at Wigram no later than 0900hrs on Saturday.  
We will return to Wigram for pickup by parents at 1600hrs.  The 
purpose of the weekend is to expand on the skills cadets learnt 
on the Bushcraft Weekend while introducing those skills to all 
cadets who were not at this camp.
<p>
The cost of the exercise is $10 to cover camp costs.  Cadets will 
need to provide their own suitable food for the weekend.  A 
recommended menu is attached.  Cadets are expected to have eaten 
breakfast before arriving at Wigram.
<p>
Any cadets wishing to attend the exercise must complete an 
Exercise Permission form via e-mail to 38stores@cadetforces.com, 
no later than Wednesday 2 October.  Cadets will need to provide a 
detailed food plan for the weekend including breakfast, lunch, 
dinner and snacks either with their permission form or by e-
mailing this to 38stores@cadetforces.com no later than Wednesday 
9 October.
<p>
We may require parents to provide transport to and from Lake 
Heron.  If you are able to assist us, please also notify us via 
the e-mail address above no later than 2 October 2013.

Christchurch Cadet Trust 2013 Fun Run / Walk <br/>
Sunday, September 22, at Wigram 11am-2pm
</strong>
<p>
We are running a Fun Run / Walk Day open to all cadets and their 
families. A 2.5 kilometre circuit will allow each entrant the 
choice of completing 2.5km, 5km, 7.5km or 10km distance.
<p>
We ask each entrant to get some sponsorship for their chosen 
event.
<p>
Sausage sizzle on the day along with Raffle Hampers (3 drawn on 
the day) <br/>and guess the lollies in the jar.
<p>
Several Spot Prizes will be given, including Best Fancy Dress.
<p>
Highest sponsorship wins Subs for 2014, with free camps for the 
next highest.
<p>
SPONSORSHIP FORMS to be RETURNED with MONEY <p>by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 
11th, to your own unit.
<p>
Entertainment Event! Officer relay race with prizes for Best 
Officer, Best Team

Final prizes for most sponsorship will be given out on respective 
parade nights.

No. 38 (Wigram) Squadron will be conducting a Bushcraft 
training 
weekend at Kindson Lodge in the Mt White area from Friday 
13th 
September to 15th September Sunday 2013.  This activity is 
open 
to all members of the unit.
<p>
Cadet will need to be at Wigram on the Friday night at 
1830hrs(630pm) and will be back on Sunday at 1600hrs(4pm).
<p>
The cost of the camp is $20 to cover transport and 
accommodation.  
Cadets will need to provide their own suitable food for the 
weekend.  Cadets are need to have eaten dinner before 
arriving at 
Wigram on Friday night.
<p>
Any cadets wishing to attend the exercise must complete an 
Exercise Permission form and return it, along with money, no 
later than Wednesday 28th August.  We will be having a full 
gear 
check on Wednesday 11th September.  Cadets will need to bring 
ALL 
their gear for the camp as well as a detailed food plan for 
the 
weekend including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

has had to be postponed. We anticipate that this will now take
