We will be selling fudge door-to-door this Sunday (May 13th)

Please come along in uniform to Wigram at 10:00am where Unit Commander Lamb-Morrow will organise you to go door-to-door in the immediate area selling more of the delicious Finn's Fudge (a great Mothers' day treat!) Parents are requested to come too and help supervise cadets.

Please come along and support the unit - the more fudge we sell the more money will be available for activities.

Dear parents, the support committee will be holding a special meeting on Wednesday 23rd May. The purpose of this meeting is to enlist new members and to appoint a treasurer and auditor.

The committee needs more members to spread the administrative and fundraising load. A treasurer is urgently required to enable the continuation of day-to-day running of the unit, and an audit is required to enable us to secure further grant funding.

The unit’s costs have risen substantially in the last 12 months; your support is vital to help raise the additional funds needed to keep fees down and to ensure the unit has the resources it needs to continue to deliver a quality program for our cadets.

We ask as many parents as possible to come to the meeting and to join the support committee. If you are able to fill one of the required roles (or for further information) please contact the chairperson. The treasurer’s position must be filled by the end of the meeting.

Dawn Parade
The Dawn Parade will be held at the Cranmer Square, the parade will form up in Chester Street west by Cathedral Grammar by 0610hrs All Cadets are expected to attend. A high standard of uniform and haircuts are mandatory, jerseys will be worn.

Papanui RSA
At the completion of the Dawn Parade Cadets are to make their way directly to St James Park entrance on St James Ave Papanui. Cadets are to assemble at 0910h. Cadets will be free to disperse from the Papanui RSA from approximately 1030h.

Cadets are to meet beside the Toi Toi shop in the domestic terminal at 05:50 to begin selling poppies. Cadets will be available for Pick Up around 09:00.

In previous years we have been very successful in receiving many donations from the airport location.

This weekend will be held at the Wigram Cadet Building. Cadets are to arrive in uniform, and to bring food for two breakfasts and two lunches, and a contribution for a shared bbq dinner. Equipment list is attached.

Please return an exercise permission form for the camp by Wednesday 28th March.

No 38 Wigram Sqn ATC]]> Thu, 15 Mar 2012 09:01:47 GMT The Committee are running a cake stall on Saturday 17th March, at Bunnings Shirley from 1000-1300hours. They need baking from ALL cadets to be sold at this event. Please bring your baking items next week.

During this time we also need a drill team to do short demonstrations and hand out recruiting fliers. Please have a think about this and sign up with the warrant officer next week.

The Support Committee would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend A Parents’ Open Night showcasing the cadet programme followed by our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 21st March, from 6.45.

Supper will be served.

This offers you the opportunity to watch the cadets parade, see some of the training programme, hear of unit and cadet achievements, events and opportunities, and meet the officers and committee members.

#38 (Wigram) Sqn ATC, Unit Support Committee.]]> Thu, 01 Mar 2012 09:02:55 GMT No. 38 (Wigram) Squadron will be running a tramp from 16 to 18 March 2012 to the Lake Daniels hut. We will be covering bush navigation and location awareness training throughout the weekend.

Cadets are to arrive at Wigram no later than 1900 hours (7:00pm) on Friday 16, having had dinner. We will return to Wigram at 1500hours (3:00pm) on Sunday 18 March. Cadets will be able to leave from 1515 hours (3:15pm). The cost for the exercise will be $15 to cover transport and food. Cadets are recommended to bring a small amount of snack-food. The exercise is limited to 8 cadets – first in, first served.

• Prof, ADV and NCO Tramp to Lake Daniels near Lewis Pass will be conducted 16th-18th of March. Approximate cost is $15 to cover fuel, own food to be provided at this stage. OIC FGOFF Gutsell.


• Unit Camp for all cadets at Wigram will be conducted 30th Mar - 01st Apr. Approximate cost $25. OIC FGOFF Corlett


• Annual General Meeting 21st March. All parents encouraged to attend.
